In ESPN Insider Chad Ford's college basketball sophomore rankings, Maryland Terrapins center Alex Len comes in at No. 2, trailing only Indiana's Cody Zeller, arguably college basketball's best overall player this season.
Len, who in his second season with the Terps has emerged as a scoring threat and dominant rebounding force, has made noticeable progress from his freshman season.
Maryland has won nine consecutive games, largely due to Len's contributions — he is averaging a team-high 14 points and 9 rebounds per game, and has recorded an ACC-best 26 blocks this year.

Needless to say it was a great decision for him to return to Maryland. He would've been a borderline first-round pick in the 2012 draft. I believe he has a decent shot at being the No. 1 pick if he has consistently strong performances in conference play and if a team that really needs a true center — like the Cavs or Magic — gets the No. 1 pick.
